Against The Tide
Their eyes whisper to me,
Words I often can't understand,
Sometimes everyone can see,
What is written in your hand
But what if your story is more
Than what the world can take?
What if the feelings that through your eyes pour,
Are those that your heart so easily break?
Show to the world you are made of stone,
when you are really made of sand,
What if everything the world I've shown,
Is to hide where I really stand.
Stab me once, stab me twice,
Pretend it doesn't hurt
It is the only price,
Taking damage you can't revert
Being different is from the tide going astray,
You have to fight against the waves
Yet is the only way,
You don't become society slaves
Someday the world will see,
How different we are meant to be,
Then the tide will easy down,
And we all will be free to swim around
