The shimmering ocean sparkled in the sunlight
As I ran along the boundless shore
Letting my hair flow free in the breeze
And the sand squish in between my toes
Leaving all my worries behind
All my fears cast to the side
Just running, running along a never ending path
Fleeing from the dark shadow that was my life
As the sun sank down into the depthless waters
Giving them a brilliant dark blue hue
I stopped and stepped into the beckoning sea
Heart heavy with grief, yet light as a bird’s wing
As I breathed one last sigh, saying goodbye.
