Don't Love Me

You whisper love words in my ear as I pull away from your hug,
You didn’t actually say love,
And for that I am glad,
I look at your eyes as you grab my hand,
I didn’t actually see anything,
And for that I am glad,
People point as the couple walk by who did actually say love,
People didn’t actually point,
And for that I am glad,
You hug me again as I wish you never say those words,
You didn’t actually read me mind,
And for that I mutter a “I love you too”
