Hourglass
Time can disclose, one's hungry mind
About the consistency of the world, then why?
Experience can strive, my soul
Can a befuddled hummingbird still fly?
Moments of light, endure, suspend
In the water's undersides, they create
Transverse waves of emotion, they rise and blend
With the strong breathing of the air
Seconds revolve around the clock, shifting arms
Into a position that indicates, the pouring of time
Is running out, you can turn around, the hourglass
Reverting its flow, yet time is smart, it surely knows
Don't even try, to change it ways, death is bestowed
With a filthy lace, a darkened facade, by age
Wrinkles of the years, its silent wait
Can you feel its hushed footsteps, following,
Muffled by the sound of eternity in your ears?
Death hides behind the alleys of time, unnoticed
Until it is uncovered by destiny, revealing fears
Shadows can propel a run, when death strikes
your nerves compel, inspire, feelings inside
of nudity, despair, reality applied
