As long as i breathe the sweet morning air,
And taste the midnght dew,
I will always love you.

Growing up is a hard thing to do,
To let go of your childhood,
Leave your teenage years behind,
Isn’t it funny how when we were kids we all used to say,
“I can’t wait till I’m eighteen.”
Or,
“I wish I were older.”
And now that we have no choice but to grow up,
We want our childhood back in some way,
For me, I just want to be a little kid again,
When I was care free and the biggest decision I made was,
Am I going to tie my shoe today or have mom do it,
Yes I miss those car free years,
No matter how much we miss those years we have to face it,
It’s our turn to grow up,
Eventually get married and have kids of our own who will also dream,
But most importantly,
To live our lives,
As we have dreamed of our entire childhood,
And maybe the reason why we are so scared to grow up is the fact of,
We no longer dream the childhood dreams because it’s time to make those dreams happen,
It’s time to make a change,
So get out there,
Live your life the way you want to live it,
After all growing up is hard to do.

I was inspired to write this piece by my life. I'm 17 years old and i'm emancipated. So at 17 i have to grow up, become an adult. This piece is really just me talking to myself as most of my writing is associated with my life in some way. i hope this inspires others to do great.
