A Real Life Rave Girl
I'm here again
Another day, another end
Not here to fight
At least not tonight
I've come to dance
To close my eyes and take a chance
Feel the beat in my soul
Fill the emptiness, the hole
Doesn't matter with who
A girl, a boy, anyone will do
A moment to taunt and flirt
So I can hide the hurt
Remembering to keep moving
Letting go, the music soothing
And when I have had my fun
I'll realize the darkness' game is done
Biting back fear
I will wait for the floor to clear
This night, this dance, a show
Ignoring the lights above, I'll let my body flow
Then just when I've eased the pain
I'll open my eyes to find that here, there is nothing to gain
So I'll take my leave
Hoping that tonight's memory will be gone and let me be
