The Soldier's Five Senses
Everyday I see my friends, our guns, the ammunition and our vehicles.
I hear the bullets, their explosions and our planes.
In Iraq I smell my sweat and the sand.
In Afghanistan I touch my bullets, my gun, my grenades and our soldiers.
All the time I taste sweat and gunpowder.
My life is hard and scared of death.
In the war there are certain people that we like and people that we hate.
We all look at terrorism in the eye hoping we do not die.
The military will not lose.
There will finally be peace in the world.
