Tell Me I'm Pretty
You write pretty words,
 Pretty and vague.
"By yonder blessed moon I swear,"
Juliet never did let him finish.
Perhaps "all these fruit tree tops" held more than a vow.

 You write pretty song lyrics,
 pretty and meaningless.
Melodies can only get you so far.
Write me a song I can believe,
 and sing me to sleep.

 You have pretty eyes,
 pretty and empty.
I look in them and see nothing, tinted the brightest green.
how is it you manage to see right through me?
