I tried to call you today,
And tell you everything,
But as I sat there waiting,
I didn’t know what to say.
Things are too different now.
And things are too strange.
A mind once filled with answers,
Has suddenly drawn a blank.
When did simple words,
Turn into complex puzzles?
And when did vibrant memories,
Slowly start to crumble?
When did you become too busy,
To even say hello?
And when did I become so distracted,
That I didn’t see you go?

This poem is about people slipping away from each other. You never really notice until it's too late.
