If i showed you the best of me you'd probably be afraid,
If you saw my homelife then you wouldn't want to trade,
maybe if i keep it real people would like me more,
instead of trying to fight me and questioning my mom at the door.
if i made her proud then she wouldn't have to worry,
she wouldn't have to say "go to the store for me and hurry!"
i wouldn't be the target for whatever i did,
i could live the normal life as a teenage kid.
i wouldn't have to be scared of sitting on the stoop,
and i wouldn't have to worry about being the daily scoop.
if i could live the normal life i could take school transportation,
i wouldn't have to rush to make it to the bus station.
if i could live the normal life, it wouldn't be so ugly,
instead of feeling worthless i'd be feeling lovely!
