Trailer parks and welfare checks
Hand-me-downs and second-best
Drunken fights and broken bones
Lonely nights and faulty homes

Above it all, I plan to soar
Through wind, through rain, I'll cry no more
From the ashes, see me rise
With angel wings, watch me fly.

Ive recently made a change to this poem. The last line should read "with wings of wisdom, watch me fly."
