The Last Song

I played to you my song
A melody that created itself
The raw and steady beat of my heart
You promised you had it memorized-
I wasn't worried.
Nor was I the lease bit confused
I never did question
Whether my heart would always play for you
I never questioned if you would always listen
Or if one unlikely day,
You simply could no longer hear it.
The simple, yet vital, drum to which it beat
You asked for it to always play the same song
You asked if it was only for you that it played
I, not questioningly, stated: "of course."
You asked me if I created it
I simply looked to the skies and said
No. He did.
You understood and accepted it all the same.
On that day I realized
I did not create that song for you
That "our song" was His song
And that this moment was the last moment
That your song would ever play to you.
On that last day, my last song
Confusedly stumbled and rushed out
Its lyrics. Leaving behind,
Two confused minds,
And one aching heart.
Abandoning the silence, for all the pain
That would now remain there.

wow, this is great. I really enjoyed this one. The flow wasn't all that great, but I loved the words and what they meant way too much to care. Such a beautiful story. This is great... as usual.

lol. thank you:) and i know what you mean about the flow not being the best. sumtimes i like to mess around and creat things with sumwhat akward and not perfected flows. rather than always rhyming, or evening out the flow to each line or stanza. lol. idk, im weird haha

ok the first thing that I thought of was couples having "a song" that they listen to and it's "their song." and it reminded me of how it sucks when u hear "that song" on the radio I looove this ♥
