Clown
Ever since that day,
The day I cried over you,
You’ve become an actor,
Hidden your face beneath a mask,
Portrayed another character than your own,
Run away to put on more make-up
Between the scenes.
You dance around me,
Sidestepping,
Swerving,
Like a clown, a painted
Grin plasters your face,
And you’re scaring me.
You don’t speak to me,
Not anymore.
Ever since that day,
The day you brought me to tears,
And everyday since,
I try not to cry over you.
