The expression from words
makes an impression on my face;
the beat of my words
tingles
D
O
W
N
through to my feet.
My finger tips,
alive with motion,
my muscles contract with
feeling and life
my mind works hard
to replicate the greats,
a common theme
among me and my fellow versifiers.
Music shapes my worldview,
my skin tone,
expresses itself in bold dreams,
challenges to a wayward society and
a call to change the world,
to change our lives through our verse.
