I Am Lost
I am lost like a grain of sand on the beach, hundreds of miles long, surrounded by thousands of others just like me, ignoble, infinitesimal, prepared to be swept away in the foaming sea to be never considered again.
I am hopeful like the seed of a sequoiadendron tree, smaller than a person's fingernail, sun and destiny gleaming upon my quotidian skin, slowly stretching my limbs to a height of 300 feet, and a girth of over 100, the greatest beauty ever to prevail in the natural world.
