Beginnings

The single drop that starts it all
Bringing trickling noises of water striking the ground
Spreading the fragrance of wet plants through the air
And feeling the cool sensation when in contact with skin

When all of these things come into place
Baby flowers open their petals
New born kittens open their eyes
And babies wiggle their toes for the first time

the thing that inspired me to write this is that i'm intrigued by things that are new to this world and how they start their life. This poem started with the spell of the first rain of the season and it unfolded from there.
