I’ve been writing poetry without
hands, or even without
words.

I could take credit for the trees
if I really wanted to impress you
I could say the sea was mine
but only once a year, palm trees in Florida

I am no poet, for I have been writing without
heart.
I would like to start
writing poetry without
ceilings.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem during a lecture one day when someone said something about writing without hands. This poem is mostly about me realizing my pretention and trying to be honest with myself instead of hiding behind subjects and imagery that I don't really know much about.
