Did you?
Did you like the puppet show?
Puppets strung so tightly,
Their strings snap and the puppets
Deflate, disappearing from the play?
Puppets strung so loosely,
They never really were even there.
Nameless characters dancing before you,
Putting on a show for you to forget
Maybe even today.
I’m part of the play,
A puppet you’ve already misplaced,
Forgotten.
That’s okay- you needn’t remember.
I delivered the lines I was meant to,
That’s all that mattered
In the great scheme of our little play.
Now tell me,
Did you like the puppet show?
