One minute you were there,
the next you were gone.
And with you, you took my heart
Never to return it again.
I am lonely without my captor,
I am weary without the one who left
I am missing that which was once mine.
But I cannot stop the search
And I cannot stop that wishful dream
My heart won't stop beating
Even though it has been torn away.

The author's comments:
I was inspired by one thing, and one thing only, and it doesn't involve a girlfriend or anything. I had so many senior friends that left last year, so it sort of made me down on myself. This poem helped out.
