I'm the girl you see alone
The one who watches
But never ventures to say hello
The girl with no friends
I'm the girl who never has fun at parties
Because I'm standing in the corner
The invisible girl
The girl who's name you forgot
My smile is shy and scarce
You think I'm a freak
I'm an outcast
The girl who stands alone
If you only got to know me
You would realize
I have feelings and dreams
I have things I love and things I hate
I've fallen in love and had my heart broken
Without ever saying a word
I've watched the crowds go by
They never stopped to look at me
They never said hello
They just looked at me, then turned away
Leaving me standing alone
Trying so hard to not let the pain in
Pretending I don't care
Watching you carefully, hopefully
Wishing you would glance over
But you never do
I pretend I don't care, though I do
I know I'm an invisible girl

The author's comments:
This piece was written (sadly) on my experiences in life. I think this kinda applies to everyone though. Inside all of us is an fear of slipping into the unknown and never getting out of that zone. That's what this poem's about.

This piece is beautiful, and very poignant. It speaks to me, and is easily relatable. I also loved the flow and rhythm which you display! Good job! ^.^
