I watch you fall gracefully

From the bridge called a crossroad

Instead of choosing a path

You jumped

As I watch a fallen angel fall once again

You look up mid-flight

Into my eyes

A smile, a sad gaze, but no goodbye

I watch you hit the ground

The abyss, rock bottom

Just when I thought you couldn’t fall even deeper

You did

I watched my heart fall with you

A black heart, cold and bleak

It fell with an angel

My angel

And I just stood by and watched.

The author's comments:
A poem I wrote based on a dream. I was originally going to make it into a short story but I wrote it as a poem on my phone when I was bored at a baseball game. Please let me know what you think - I don't write a lot a poetry and I could use suggestions!

I thought this was very sad and packed full of emotion.  I liked it.  It's short and simple, but you seem to get everything in that it needs :)
