Pappy
Sitting in your chair
Another western book in your hand
I watch as the world fades around you

 You've taught me so much
 Things I never will forget
 From tying my shoes
 To learning the alphabet

I love helping you in the garden
 It's always a blast
 Getting my hands dirty
 And having a laugh

 Every morning we're together
 McDonalds here we come
 While we eat
 You read the paper
 To see which sports teams
 Have won

 You watch old western movies
 You say they're the best
And that i should watch one sometime
 But I always protest

 No matter what we do
 Or where we're at
There's always a lesson to be learned
 Or a fun fact

Life's not about how hard you can hit; it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done.
