The Shadowed Gem

I feel like an alluring iridescent gem
Among callous thieves,
Yet,
I feel like a weightless shadow
Among a moonless midnights’ trees.
They all gaze at me with shallow consuming eyes,
Loving sightlessly, they deify me,
But,
Will they ever really see,
The ugliness that I have turned out to be?
