"Let us not look back in anger, nor foward in fear, but around in awareness."
-Dr. Suess

When it rains,
It pores
And show that I'm sore.

When it rains,
It drowns
And shows I'm not found.

When it rains,
It shines
With a new divine.

When it rains,
It hurts
'Cus it just wouldn't work.

Now it's raining 'cus of me
And I'm trying to breath.

It hurts when I breath in,
Kills when I breath out.

The pain I feel,
The pain I shout.

The meds I take
Just make me quake.

They say I'll get butt
But it never works.

I think I might
Have a curse.

As I cough and cough
I wonder what it would feel like if I could breath.

If I wasn't sick.
If I could breath.

It hurts to breath,
Hurts to talk,
Hurts to even really walk.

As I sit here and think,
What a great day I would have
If my phenomena went far, far away.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem when I had phenomena and I was experiencing a hard time breathing even though I took all the meds I was told to. I hope you get a taste of what it feels like to have phenomena without actually having it. Enjoy.
