sleepless night
Another sleepless night
Here I pace upon the floor
Waiting for answer to walk through the door
Knowing I must find them myself
Secreted away on the highest shelf
of the great library that is the mind
with no organization of any kind
and in this tome so dusty and old
many are the secrets to be told
of loves lost and loves won
of battles fought and plans undone
one of these holds the key
that shall unlock that which is missing within me
locked inside the dark room
where not even the hardiest of flowers can bloom
the darkness grows the darkness oppresses
upon every inch of my soul it presses
until it is nothing more
and I cannot spread my wings and soar
come to visit but bring a light
if you wish to join me on this sleepless night.
