Unstrung Melody

June 22, 2010
By Anonymous

In my heart, the song does continue
With a melody unstrung and painful
Never as warm and predictable as
The wondrous song used to be like
I hear God call to the strings in my soul
His voice merely vibrates and leaves
I hear, but don’t even try to listen,
For the pain needs time to sink away
I don’t feel like dying, but yet
I don’t feel like living, either
While my heart can’t make up its mind
On whether to bleed or freeze
This pain is a nuisance, I wish it away
But how can it when it runs in my blood?

I'm not sad about anything right now, but why this came flowing off my typing finger confuses me yet.
