Tweet, tweet, tweet
Go the chirping birds in the morning,
As they happily hop from branch
to branch searching for their berry breakfasts.

Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle
The rippling water of the creek
Carries the pebbles and pink petals
Over the large, sharp rocks.

Zip, zip, zip
Buzz the yellow and black honeybees
As they fly swiftly around from flower
to flower gulping sweet nectar.

Tap, tap, tap
The pitter and patter of the soft rain on the street
Causing fat droplets to soak fields of green
For the births of tulips and daisies.

Pop, pop, pop
Burst the light green leaves
From the cotton white blossoms on trees
Swaying back and forth in the breeze.

Scratch, scratch, scratch
The sound of scraping squirrel nails
On the chocolate barked trees
As they crack and eat the nuts.

I wake and see
the sun shining on me.
I take a deep breath and welcome you,
Spring.
