The Best 3 Months of the Year
I look out the window, see the sun and feel the breeze,
When this season comes, I feel at such ease.
I open up the window and feel the humid air,
And realize how much the weather really effects what I wear.
I put on a pair of shorts, a tank top, and a bathing suit underneath,
After that I quickly eat breakfast and brush my teeth.
I grab a random pair of flip flops, a towel and some sunscreen,
And think about how good of a time it is to say that I am only fourteen.
No worrying or stress about anything that comes towards me,
Because this is my time off, and I’m living it care-free.
I step into the car and a flood of excitement sets in,
As we pull out of the driveway, what flashes across my face is a grin.
The second that we park, my feet are quickly out the door,
Rushing to feel the coolness of the sandy shore.
The hot sand under my feet, as we look for a good spot,
Maybe a place with some shade, because it is so hot.
As I bathe in the sun, I know that summer has officially arrived,
And for teens everywhere, this is the best time of our lives.
