Poor Acorn Tree
Mid April
Poor rainy day
Nothing to do but to walk around
Then bang a big noise in our backyard
Outside our acorn tree hit by lightening
Bark everywhere on the deck at the neighbor’s house
I can smell the burnt tree
I picked up the bark it was warm
Our humongous one and only acorn tree dead
Neighbors came out to see what happened
They were shocked to see it
No fire because it was raining
That was just lucky
Think a couple more feet the lightening could of hit our house
The huge acorn tree acted like a lightening rod
If it wasn’t there our house could have gotten hit.
