Childhood

Remember when the toy store was the best store in the world?

When you rather play outside then take a shower

And your best friend was in your imagination

When getting high meant swinging on the playground

Protection meant wearing a helmet
The worse thing you could get from boys were cooties

And boys were YUCCKY

When your worst enemies were your siblings

The playground was the best hangout place

War was only a board game

Our only drug was cough syrup

When we would do any thing for a cookie

Sleeping during class was allowed

The worst pain in the world were scrapped knees

And we couldn’t wait to grow up

And hell meant timeout

School was simply another fun day

When hanging out meant playing outside all day

Parties were all about the cake

When we would kill for candy

The worst place was the dentist office

Having the lattes toy was COOL

And we would cry for what we wanted

When getting away with anything was possible

The spiciest thing on earth were hot cheetos

When cheating meant playing with someone else

And you couldn’t sleep without our teddy bear

You had to sleep with the lights on so that monsters wouldn’t eat you

When Kool-Aid was our only alcohol

And when goodbyes were until tomorrow………
