"When we are struck at without a reason, we should strike back again very hard; I am sure we should-so hard as to teach the person who struck us never to do it again."

Charlotte Bronte, Jane Eyre

Beating waves
Pounding the rhythm of life
Each wave a heartbeat
They pulse out our story
All the people the waves have seen
Every classic moment
Every throb of pain they have witnessed
Have they washed away the footprints of a famous person
Or just a mother, the most important person to her children
If only the ocean could speak
The secrets of life it could reveal
Revealing life's secrets
Speaking from the ocean
A child's most important person, a mother
Footprints of a famous person, washed away by waves
Witnessing pains every throb
Moments remembered as classics
Seeing so many people
Our story pulsed out
Our heartbeat a wave
Life's rhythm pounding
Waves beating
