The ocean crashes at its shore
Nothing standing in its way
For the ocean knows no way to stop
It pounds the beach with no relent

Every touch of wave to shore
Takes away
And yet leaves something more

A broken heart beats shallower still
Nothing left in life to take
She thinks there’s no reason to live
As she lies on this sandy hill

The wind blows uncaringly through the grass
Unknowing of a life nearing it’s last

The ocean, unwilling to sleep,
Loudly weeps

The broken heart begins to cry
Her soul cant find a reason why
The friends she has even try
When the product of life is to simply die

The ocean surges
Stronger still
As she lies broken on that sandy hill
She looks towards the shore
And wonders if there’s more

She decides to try
One last time

And walks to the abandoned shore
And as her feet touch the grainy sand,
She feels a slight healing within,
Only a small glint of hope as the sun begins to rise above the now calmed sea,
Knowing now what the broken girl needs

I was going through a really tough time in my life where nothing seemed to make sense to me except poetry. I'm not sure what I would have done had I not known to vent through writing.
