Waiting, Wishing

I sit in a classroom
Or at home in a chair
anywhere
My eyes close
my heart opens
and I think
of him
I imagine him
I wish for him
but he never comes
yet I still wait.
Freckled skin
light brown hair
but when I open my eyes
nothing is there
so I wait
and I wish
and I wonder if
one day
I will stop waiting
and control my own fate.
