Changed

My best friend stands taller than my heart, though our eyes always seem to meet perfectly despite our size
My best friend embraces every tear and understands why I always have to be so different
My best friend yells at me and fights against me because my best friend knows that I’m not perfect
My best friend never looks at the clock when I’m around because my best friend knows that our time together doesn’t need a count down
My best friend respects the decisions I’ve made and forgives me for my mistakes in the past
My best friend never says that he needs time to think because my best friend would rather live in the moment then worry about how we’ll be in the future
My best friend will never be able to hold grudges because my best friend knows the kind of people that he wants to keep in his life
My best friend is considerate of my friends and is thankful for the ones that truly matter to me

The ones that truly matter are not always the ones that I’ve known the longest
The ones that truly matter laugh when were together and smile because they know we could never actually be apart
The ones that truly matter waited for me while my best friend and I were discovering how valuable we really are
The ones who truly matter will talk me through the hard times and tell me when something isn’t right
The ones who truly matter will always be one text away no matter what
The ones who truly matter may not always know how much I really love them, especially the one who is far away

The one who is far away learned Howe the military worked before she realized what our friendship was really worth
The one who is far away took away the space in my heart that was left for that one special girl who would change my life forever
The one who is far away taught me what unconditional love feels like and that distance doesn’t matter
The one who is far away is the prettiest woman in the world and has a bright future a head of her
The one who is far away will always be my girl because she comforts me when I’m sad about the ones I’ve lost

The ones I’ve lost I don’t regret holding onto with everything I had
The ones I’ve lost did matter and are permanently a part of my life forever
The ones I’ve lost may not like me now, but it comforts me to know that I once was able to make them smile
The ones I’ve lost may feel like I don’t want anything to do with them, but I hope they know that when I promised I would always be there for them, I meant it
The ones I’ve lost continue to affect me to this day, and I’m sorry for the way things turned out

My best friend knows about the ones I’ve lost because I told him that the ones who truly matter and the one who is far away have all affected me and changed me more than I have ever had control over.
