A Poem About Love MAG

June 6, 2010

I don't want to write a poem about
Love.
I want to write about living.
I want to walk down the streets of my neighborhood
With my head held high,
A camera in one hand,
The breeze blowing,
And my friends by my side.
I want to be youthful and meet new people …
A new boy.
I want to meet eyes and talk until the sun sets.
Stay out with that boy until he walks me home
Along the barren streets during a warm, summer night.
But then again,
I don't want to write a poem about love.

This poem started as a free write and I reall wasn't planning on publishing it or giving it to my teacher for a grade, but she saw it and insisted on me publishing it.
