"your hair wants cutting."
-the Mad Hatter

I sit alone.
On the grass in the sweet moonlight;
The star’s song.
To me,
They sing of sorrow.
Silver streams fill my eyes.
Come,
Heart wrenching memories.
The melancholy music of disaster
Escapes my trembling lips.
My tongue catches drops
Of cascading pain.
Surprised by sudden sadness,
The moon and stars
Seem to mock me
As I drown in despair.
A beauty uncontrollable
Surrounds the misery of my heart.
The night fades
To a darker blue.
The wind holds me tight
And the sky catches my grief.
Waves of crashing love
Torment my vision,
Their joyful sounds of woe
Bade me go to sleep.
A blanket of green underneath,
And the salty drink of heartbreak to keep me company,
I am carried into a land
Where reality and imagination are one.
Still the night fades deeper,
Still I am alone, on the grass,
In the sweet moonlight.
