Missed the Boat

I am a fisherman
I go out to sea everyday
To scrape the barnacles off the bottom of my boat
To cast a lined pole into the sea
To talk with the whales that give me hope for another day
The sunset tells me to go home
I am a father
I go home to my only son
To tell him false stories of my adventures
To cast lies in front of his face
To talk to myself for hours in the bathroom
The sunrise tell me to go into the ocean
