It causes me so much pain,
and not just physically.
Changing constantly from high to low,
why can't it end already.

My blood is tainted, or so it seems,
the sugar inside is killing me.
I try to keep it under control,
but it's a lot harder than it looks, you know.

Everyday I take the drugs,
my body needs to survive.
A prick, a poke I no longer feel,
that's necessary to stay alive.

It has really been forever,
honestly I can't remember.
Not having any worries,
about this thing called diabetes.

The author's comments:
I have been diabetic for almost 10 years of my life and it is a tough thing to deal with. I know many teens suffer with it, and I just want them to know I understand their pain.
