Secret

Locked inside a shadowed room,
I keep my secrets hidden.
Until the day I set them free,
They’ll stay put as bidden.
People come, trying to break,
Their way into that place.
So they can scatter, collect, and free
The secrets of my face.

Sometimes one or two get free,
Never a really big one.
But the other day one was stolen
Now my future is done.
A thief came, one whom I trusted,
With life and limb and heart.
She went inside, with righteous pride,
And tore my trust apart.

To the world, or as I knew it,
She scattered it all around.
Gosh forbid she just took care of
What she previously found.
Now, too late, my hopes are useless,
Just as was my lock-ed doors.
Now all that is left of that room
Are tears of betrayal that streak the floor.

The room’s peace is shattered,
Laughter jostles what is stable,
This won’t be forgotten soon,
When my secret sits across the table.
Jordan says don’t even talk,
Cuz of what happened yesterday.
I spat words, belted out fists,
While rolling eyes with nothing to say.
Aloud.
But inside I slashed out with this:

I never wanted to love him!
He’s a C+, maybe B student,
I usually just like smart people,
But refuse him my heart just wouldn’t.
Either way, I’m pretty sure,
That I’ll be gone too soon.
Drawn towards battle, honor from country,
In very few afternoons.

A heart to be crushed, a secret let loose,
Havoc plagues my world.
I’m all alone, until this dies down,
Because my secret unfurled.
Now all anyone thinks or does,
Has to make me feel bad.
Because Gosh forbid they get a life,
Before I just go mad.
