Boredom
Boredom is like an orange door.
It’s so unusual, unneeded, blocking.
Yet so undefeated.
It’s so bizarre; no one in their right mind would consciously build an orange door.
Yet it’s so entrancing, this orange door, drawing our gaze
and making us forget anything even exists beyond it.
Yet all that’s needed is a splash of bright white paint on the handle
to show us all the way out.
Let the door creak open until it flies
right off its hinges.
