Good Where I'm At
Today, the shades of gray have faded away
from my brainwaves along with yesterday's haze
My hate and rage gave way and it feels great-
To change and lay waste to this deadweight.
Woke up this morning and i prayed, even gave thanks
And this time i didn't engage to save face.
Not even bummed that I'm stuck in the same place,
And will be till' they engrave on my nameplate.
Made haste out the door when thoughts got to me,
That the fame and the fortune just cannot compete,
With all I've got here, Man, I hit the lottery,
My apologies when I complained so thoughtlessly.
And even though I got no deal, I'm still rapping loose,
Cruising down pacific beach in the afternoon,
The car radio is on playing a happy tune,
I sing along to Good Day by Nappy Roots
