When I'm Late

My name has been Michael,
but I know myself to be Late.
I’ve known another—
his name—On Time.
On time detests Late,
Late wants to be On Time.
Too much to do.
When can I do it,
at night?
It’s Late.
Apologies,
they’re late.
seeking forgiveness
On Time is forgiven,
but I’m too Late.
Going,
a fun time.
Arriving,
what did I miss?
Walking in the room
People ask…
my answer, “Sorry,
I’m Late.”
