I've Seen Before That Face

I see you in your crooked home,
Of cardboard sides and Styrofoam,
And think to mine,
As I walk by,
I’ve seen before that face.

I watch you at your graveyard stone,
Armed with flowers, rumbling moan,
And think, o my,
As I walk by,
I’ve seen before that face.

I’ll spot you on your golden throne,
Brow creased with fret, disquiet shown,
And think, o why,
As I walk by,
Have I seen before that face.

And now I see I’ve always known,
Those matching smiles, left alone,
As from the sea,
Looks back at me,
That face I’ve seen before.
