It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing

As I walk under the streetlamp of this sepia shaded road
I think.
I think of the movement of her lips, and the sound of her voice.
I think of the dullness of her once-bright eyes, and the slump in her stance.
I think of the tears on her cheeks, and the choke in her words.
I think of her on the night she said goodbye
And this time… I knew it was for forever.
Her blossoming face, her pink rose lips, and her white teeth of ivory thorns.
In terms of vanity
In terms of Personality
She was beauty incarnate.
And as her beautiful blossom wilted away… this time… I knew it was for forever.
As I walk out from under the streetlamp of this sepia shaded road, into the dark I fall with forever
Dragging my heart
Down
Down
Down.

Inspiration for this poem came after I began writing poetry and i thought on my first relationship and how I felt after it ended.
