A Time to Serve

Spinning, Spinning out of control,
To change this course we need one goal.

Spinning, spinning ‘round and ‘round,
The answers are not that profound.

Don’t you think that it is time,
Forget this nonsense and stop the crime?

All the days have passed away,
When we worked before our play.

It’s not too late to educate,
Let us not procrastinate.

Soldiers fight for our rights,
As we sleep peaceful through the nights.

Politics can be a game,
The leaders often are to blame.

Don’t you see freedom is rare,
But no one ever seems to care.

We must unite to win this fight.
Can you not see that I am right?

Let’s stop this poverty and starvation,
We’re all part of the same creation.

Stop all the selfishness,
And think of those in distress.

It is others that we should serve,
That’s what those in need deserve.

Spinning, Spinning out of control,
We’re just digging a deeper hole.

Spinning, Spinning, it will mock,
Like the ticking of a clock,
But will the madness ever stop?

After watching the world news over this past year and seeing all the hardship and tragities that people are facing, I was inspired to write this poem. I am also inspired to see how I can help some situations.
