He teaches us
To fly and to love
To soar above our fears
To master perfection
Why do we love these creatures?
Maybe its the passion
The beauty
Or the bond
Between horse and rider
We no longer feel afraid
Our minds work as one
We are no longer judged
Because here on my horse
I feel nothing else
But the flight of jumping
The power of taking off
And the grace of movement
The world may be watching
But here on my horse
We know nothing else
But the intensity
The strength
And the adrenalin
Of a competition
The world may be watching
But all they will hear
Is thunder of hooves
Leading a path to a victory
More than gold could ever buy
Because a friend means more
Than life itself

What inspired me to write this poem is what I feel every single day when I ride my horse. My love for my horse is what makes me write this much. That is why I am an Equestrian who writes poetry.
