The stench of death fills the air,
A dead man's corpse still screams,
Machine gun fire strikes more men down,
Young and old and sick.
Nurses wail in bloodstained white,
Their faces pale, their eyes insane,
Their sickbeds filled with tortured men,
Death will never sleep.

The author's comments:
I wrote this when I was about 11, and I remember my teacher being slightly worried about me after reading this. It's just simple poem about war and death.
