I lean back
Hoping to disintegrate
Into the cold wall
My eyes cloud over
Glazed with tears
I can’t let myself cry
They’ll ask why.
Are you okay?
Why are you crying?
I’m not okay
I’m not alright
But I fake a smile
A bubbly excuse
I’m just tired.
But they still ask questions.
And I still lie.
