The Sparks
Burn brighter everyday
As we grow up and learn the ropes

The embers
Scorch our senses
As we come alive and find our way

The flames
Slowly shape us
As we test our new found wings

The fire
Catches ahold of our thoughts
As we give in to temptations

The blaze
Takes control
As we discover lust and love

The inferno
Scalds our restraints
As we finally break free from our chains

The smoke
Is all we leave behind
As we dissipate into the night

The author's comments:
Fire is a powerful being both physically and metaphorically. It is used to represent a strong feeling or opinion. My poems are my own. In my opinion, to edit them would make my poems lose their opportunity to be different.
