Eyes open.
Christmas Finally!
Sprinting up the stairs,
Colorful, shiny, new presents,
Ones that weren’t there the night before.
“Mom! Dad! Get up! Santa came last night!”
Which one am I going to open first? Whoa, that one is huge!
Red boxes, blue squares, green rectangles, wrapped carefully.
Excitement builds,
Tearing begins,
Smiles grow.
